State of x402 listings — measured conformance

Captured 2026-10-03 from 800 listings across 55 hosts in the x402 Bazaar directory (1696 accepts entries, 79 distinct pay-to addresses).

What this is. Unpaid, read-only analysis of public directory metadata. No endpoint was probed for this report and no party is named. Figures are point-in-time (captured 2026-10-03) and describe what listings DECLARE, not what a live 402 returns. Corrections are welcome and are applied to this page with a dated note.
Our own listing status, stated plainly. code402 is not currently listed in the directory this measurement draws from — a search of the full snapshot for our domain and pay-to address returns nothing. We publish the market we are trying to join, including the fact that we are outside it. (On 2026-10-04 our own OpenAPI declared no payment mode on 76 of 77 routes, which is very likely why an OpenAPI-first indexer could not list us; that is fixed and re-audited.)

Read together: about one in five accept entries is missing at least one field a strict client needs before it will sign. The failure is silent on the seller side — the listing looks alive, and the client simply never pays.

Check your own listing

Everything above is checkable against your own endpoint in one request. Our conformance probe is free to run yourself: it reads your discovery document, requests your 402 challenge, and reports each check with the raw payload. If you want a dated, named report — the same checks, with your payloads, signed by us and citable by your buyers — see pilot terms or write to support@code402.dev. We never publish a named report without the subject's request.
